FAQ

The LogEM FAQ.

Common questions about LogEM, the free logbook for UK emergency medicine trainees.

Get LogEM on the App Store Free. Unlimited entries.
Is LogEM free?

Yes. Unlimited entries, every procedure and scan type, full export, no trial.

Does my logbook leave my phone?

No. Entries live on your device and are never uploaded. We hold your Apple or Google sign-in and your marketing preference, never your logbook.

Can I log POCUS scans?

Yes, as their own record type, with modality, findings and supervision level, feeding your POCUS tracker.

Can I export for ARCP?

Yes. Procedure logbook, POCUS logbook, combined logbook and POCUS tracker, as PDF, Excel or CSV.

Can I bring in my old logbook?

Yes. CSV, Excel or Word tables. Duplicates are flagged before anything is added.

Does it work offline?

Yes. LogEM writes to your device, not a server. It works in resus with no signal.

What happens when I change phone?

Export a backup from Account and import it on the new phone. An iPhone backup restores it too.

Which stages of training does it cover?

ACCS (CT1/ST1 to CT2/ST2), intermediate (ST3) and higher (ST4 to ST6). Pick yours and the lists follow.

Should I put patient details in it?

No, and there is nowhere to. No fields for names, dates of birth, or hospital or NHS numbers.

Is LogEM connected to the Royal College of Emergency Medicine?

No. LogEM is independent, and not affiliated with or endorsed by the College.

Is there an Android version?

Not yet. iPhone today, Android in development.

Who makes it?

Dr Thomas Porter, a UK emergency medicine trainee. Send feedback from Account in the app.
